Before Abby was born, her mother, Rochelle, looked through a book titled All the Women of the Bible. In that moment, she looked beyond any challenges and saw something greater—that her daughter had found favor with God. From that faith and love, Abrigail Monica Gadson was born on March 24, 2003. Abby Abby had heart for helping others. She created paracord bracelets, woven with beautiful colors, which she shared with people near and far. To this day, they can be found all over the world—small pieces of Abby’s love and hope traveling far beyond what words can reach. Her love for reading also inspired Abby’s Window of Dreams, a project that placed books into the hands of others across South America, Africa, the Bahamas, and South Carolina, continuing to spread her light and imagination around the world. From the very beginning, Abby brought light, love, and a beautiful spirit into the world. She was a bright presence—full of energy, kindness, and a warmth that could be felt by everyone around her. Abby was a fighter and always carried a smile on her face, no matter what she was going through. She wanted to be treated like everyone else, because that is how she saw herself. She never allowed her disability to define or limit her, and she did not let it stand in the way of achieving greatness.
Abby was incredibly creative and loved working with her hands. She had a deep love for art and Disney, finding joy and magic in creativity and imagination. She saw beauty in the world in a way that inspired others to do the same. Her favorite moments were the long road trips to Disney, where she could see all the characters she loved from her movies and books. Disney made her feel truly alive. Whether through her passions or simply her presence, Abby had a special way of making life feel lighter and more meaningful. She carried herself with strength and positivity. She once said, “Time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” She lived by those words and never let anything stop her from going after what she wanted. Abby touched lives all over the world, and her smile reached farther than words can express. She had a way of lifting others up, bringing comfort, joy, and laughter even in difficult moments. Whether through a simple conversation, a shared laugh, or a small act of kindness, she made people feel seen, valued, and loved. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave and the impact she made will last forever. The hole she has left in our hearts is simply too big to fill, but her memory will continue to live on in all of us.
Your wings were ready for you, but our hearts were not.
“If the elevator to success is out of order, you’ll have to use the stairs—one step at a time.”
