Annette B Holladay

Annette B. Holladay, 77, of Irmo, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026. Born September 24, 1949, in Lexington, S.C. Annette was a lifelong South Carolinian at heart. Though life took her to Florida, Ohio, and Alabama for periods of time, she ultimately returned home to Irmo in 2001, where she remained until her passing.

Annette was the beloved wife of George Al Holladay, Jr. with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories. She was the devoted mother of Rachel Holladay LeBlanc (Jorge) and Benjamin Holladay (Laura) and a cherished grandmother to Charlotte, Marc, Sophia, Alex, Samara, and Griffin.

She was the oldest of three siblings and is survived by her brother, Stanley Bouknight, and her sister, Donna Hilton (Rodney).

She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Myrtle Bouknight.

Annette spent much of her professional life in the dental field, working as a secretary and office manager. She was also an active member of her church, where her faith was reflected not only in her worship, but in the way she lived her life and treated the people around her.

Those who knew Annette will remember her above all for her extraordinary kindness. She was quite possibly the nicest person anyone could ever hope to meet. Selflessness was not simply something she practiced. It was who she was. She gave freely of her time, her love, her support, and whatever she had to give. She would give you the shirt off her back and then apologize that it wasn't a better fit.

Annette was kind, caring, loving, supportive, and fiercely loyal. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel cared for, accepted, and loved. She gave without keeping score, helped without being asked, and loved without condition. Her family and friends were blessed not simply by having her in their lives, but by knowing what it felt like to be loved by her.

Annette leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in accomplishments or possessions, but in the countless lives she touched through simple acts of kindness and unconditional love. Her family will carry that legacy forward, along with the memories of a woman who spent her life making the world around her a little gentler.

It is difficult to imagine what role Annette will have in heaven. After all, she was already an angel here on Earth.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Colonial Gardens Memory Care and Heart of Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.

Services will be at St Peters Lutheran Church; 1130 St. Peters Rd. Lexington, SC 29072 Saturday, October 3, 2026 with visitation held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be held privately.
