Audrey Cook Bare

COLUMBIA – A Graveside service for Audrey Cook Bare, 94, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. The Reverend Dr. Ronald “Dee” Vaughan will officiate. Mrs. Bare was born in Kannapolis, NC January 16, 1928, to the late Clifford C. Cook and Blanch Goodman Cook. Mrs. Bare was a longtime member beginning with Broad River Baptist Church until now when the church was moved to its current location and renamed St. Andrews Baptist Church. She was also a longtime member of her loving Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Nelson and her husband, Dr. Larry of Seneca, SC; sons, Joe Bare, Jr. and his wife, Miriam of Monroe, NC; Jimmy Bare and his wife, Patti of Concord, NC; Johnny Bare of Gilbert, SC; 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Joe Bare Sr., grandson Andrew Nelson, a great-grandson, Bricen Bare, and four loving sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Andrews Baptist Church and/or the Food Pantry, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
