Barbara Derrick Marshe

Barbara Derrick Marshe, 75, of Irmo, born June 7, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Jennings Derrick and the late Mary Lou Byrd Derrick. A graduate of Columbia High School, Barbara held various administrative assistant and bookkeeper positions in Columbia and took great pride in being a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, always providing strength and support to her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Don Heyward Marshe. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Haley Marshe Calore (Jonathan) and Kendall Jennings Marshe both of Columbia; her cherished granddaughters, Caroline and Madison.

In recent years, she renewed an old friendship and embarked upon a new chapter of life with Jack Gary. Barbara enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and was once an avid Bridge player who loved crocheting, cooking, and a good cup of coffee.

A service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday February 4, 2025 in the chapel at Bush River Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
