Betty Jeanne (Bond) Albury, age 106, went to join her heavenly family on July 2, 2026, in Lexington, South Carolina.
Born on February 8, 1920, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Betty was the eldest of four children born to Jesse and Irene (Rubel) Bond.
On Christmas Day Betty married the love of her life, Hardy Robert Albury, in Tampa, Florida. Together they built a loving family and shared over 60 years of marriage.
Betty retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta, Georgia, and later moved to Lakeland, Florida, where she became an active member of First United Methodist Church. She faithfully participated in the United Methodist Women and the Singing Ambassadors, sharing her lifelong love of music through worship and fellowship.
Music was one of Betty's greatest passions. She sang beautifully, played both the violin and piano, and passed her love of music on to her children. In retirement, she discovered another creative talent—painting. Her artwork was shown in numerous exhibits, bringing joy to many who viewed it.
Betty and Hardy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home and cherished taking cruises together. While she treasured her many hobbies and adventures, her greatest joy was always her family.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Jeanne McKinney (Sonny) and Kathy Lawrence (Kevin); her grandchildren, Kevin Lawrence Jr. (Tanya), Kyle Lawrence (Kate), Gregory “Gaines” Kergosien (Mary), and Melissa "Missy" Moore (Jake); and her beloved great-grandchildren, Calahan Moore, Jake Moore, and Hollis Lawrence. She also leaves behind brother-in-law Tom Richards, two nephews and four nieces who will cherish her memory.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hardy Robert Albury; her son Hardy “Dee” Albury; her parents, Jesse and Irene Bond; her brother, Jesse "Jack" Bond; her sisters, Barbara Richards, and Beverly McAdams; and Beverly’s husband Grady McAdams; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Arnold; and Elizabeth's husband, Robert Arnold, niece Katherleen Arnold Davis; and Katherleen’s husband Luther “Lou” Davis.
A private family service will be held in Tampa, Florida, at a later date.
Betty's life was one of faith, creativity, music, service, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, and treasured memories that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
