C. Hugh Freeze

C. Hugh Freeze, 90, passed away on February 12, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Bush River Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Freeze was born on December 28, 1935, in Kannapolis, North Carolina, to the late Howard Leo Freeze and Norine Vera Burgess Freeze. He served as a Chief Financial Officer for several companies and, when his health allowed, was a very active member of Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Hugh attended Mars Hill University for two years before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps for two years. He then returned to school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Patsy Hobbs Freeze.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Pigneri (Charles) of Kansas City, Kansas, and Lori Watson (John) of Columbia, South Carolina; three grandchildren, John Charles Watson, Ashley Alspaw (Jon), and Brooke Rodriguez (Rafael); two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Alspaw and Jillian Alspaw; and his sister, Lynne Freeze Spach.
