Carolyn Patricia Metz-Daughtry

IRMO- A Celebration of Life Service for Carolyn Patricia Metz-Daughtry, 72 of Irmo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Patricia, beloved wife of Mervil Daughtry of 20 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Travis and Bessie Connell Austin. Patricia graduated University High School and went on to earn her nursing degree at the University of South Carolina Nursing Program, class of 1980. She worked for Rikards Nursing Home now known as Lexington Extended Care. At the conclusion of her working career, she retired from Providence Hospital.Patricia loved the beach, reading and dancing. Her greatest accomplishments were being a wife, mother and grandmother. Patricia was known by most of her family and especially her grandchildren as “Gee”. Surviving are her husband, Mervil Daughtry, of Irmo; daughter, Ginger Hackett (Michael) of Chapin; Son, Russell Metz (Jaimi) of Jacksonville, FL; step-daughter, Michelle Crews ofKorea (William); step-son, Shawn Daughtry (Wendy) of Lexington; sisters, Linda Knott of St. Matthews, Andrea Tallon of Cayce and Deborah Austin of Lexington; grandchildren, Morgan Metz, Cambell Metz, Laikyn Hackett, Ainsley Hackett, Reed Hackett, Jamie Newell, Taylor Newell, MJ Daughtry. She was preceded by her first husband of 25 years, Ray Metz and a daughter, Glenda Metz.
