Cecil Ann “Cee” Collie Spencer, 87, of Lexington, South Carolina, died March 4, 2021.She was born in Durham, North Carolina on December 7, 1933, to the late Charles Harvey Collie and Florence Pearl Gentry Collie. Cecil graduated from Durham High School in 1952 and attended Meredith College.She enjoyed spending her free time, when not serving as a mother and wife, ready and shopping.She worked as an administrative assistant for her entire career and retired from AgFirst Farm Credit Bank. On June 4, 1970, Cecil married Robert D. “Bob” Spencer.They were married for 48 years until the death of Bob in 2019. Cecil was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Columbia, SC, and its chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King. Cecil is survived by a son, Walter H. Spencer (Debra), and a daughter, Meri-Jefre P. Nash (Jason); a granddaughter, Amanda E. Altman (Russell) and a step-grandson, Paxton Szoke; and two great-grandsons, Josiah and Ryland Altman.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Charles “Charley” C. Spencer. A memorial service conducted by the Reverend Patricia Sexton will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1001 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. The family will greet friends following the service in the church courtyard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Disability Rights South Carolina, 3710 Landmark Drive, Suite 208, Columbia, SC 29204; St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 170 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210; All Saints Episcopal Church, 1001 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033; or Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 Ashland Park Lane, Suite B, Columbia, SC 29210. The family would like to thank the staff of both Oakleaf Village of Lexington and Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care you gave our parents.
