Cindy Tener

Cindy C. Tener, 59, of Columbia, SC passed away in her home on April 20th, 2020. A private burial will be on Friday, April 25th, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church Cemetery with Reverend John P. Trump, officiating.In light of the recent Covid 19 Virus, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Cindy was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Janice Weddig Marten of Columbia and the late David Crutchfield.She was a longtime member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church.Cindy worked as an LPN for many years and won “Nurse of the Year”, while employed at Lexington Medical Center.She was known for her big heart and was especially passionate about her family and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her loving husband, James R. ‘Jim” Tener of 13 years; mother, Janice Marten of Columbia; daughter, Kasey Varney Hall of Charlotte, NC; sons, Scott Varney of Greenwood, and Taylor Varney (Haley) of Charlotte, NC; step-daughters, Carley Daniel of Bluffton, Olivia Tener and Emily Tener both of Columbia; brother, Chris Crutchfield (Kim) of Stony City, Iowa; sisters, Kim Stanley (David) and Kelly Longshore both of Columbia. She also precedes her grandchildren, Sophia, Coleman, Paxton, expecting Hudson Varney and Isabella Spears.
