Doris Knight Reid

Doris passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. Born in Anniston, AL, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth Lloyd. She was a United States Army wife. Following her husband’s Army retirement and raising her own children, she returned to her passion for educating elementary students. She was an exceptionally compassionate and emotionally gifted individual. Those skills led to a long career in the Richland County SC School System. During retirement, she engaged in gardening and traveling.

Doris also found great joy and love in her family. She is survived by her children; daughters, Brenda Paulling (Gene), Janet Knight; and her sons, Stephen Knight, Richard Knight (Nicole); grandchildren, Nicholas Speros, Andrew Speros, Christopher Knight and Adam Knight; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ruth Lloyd; sister, Molly Brasher; brother, Edward Lloyd; her spouses, Milton Knight and William Reid; her daughter, Teresa Diane Shannon; and three grandchildren.

The family request that donations to Sister Care Inc. or the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Doris Reid be sent in lieu of flowers.
