COLUMBIA—Geraldine Plunkett Whittle died Monday, March 7, 2016.Born in Aiken, SC on April 19, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Frank Plunkett and Irene Jackson Plunkett. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 with burial to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Geraldine (Geri) was a faithful navy wife and loving mother. She was the former owner and operator of Alpha Driver Training School where she dedicated her time to teaching others the rules of the road. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra D. Clark (Robert) of Columbia; sons, Douglas Frank Whittle (Tammi) of Blythewood and Dean E. Whittle (Cathy) of Columbia; grandchildren, Jeri (Neil), Ashley, Jason (Amanda), D.J. (Allie), Kelly, Jessica (Larry) and Ryan; along with eleven great-grandchildren. Those who preceded her in death include her beloved husband, Hoyt H. Whittle; brothers, David and Dennis Plunkett and granddaughter, Rebecca Whittle Daniels.
