Columbia—The memorial service for Jerry W. Berley, 82, of Columbia, will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 525 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021. The Reverend Gary Loadholdt officiating.The family will receive friends after the service at the church.Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pomaria, SC. Jerry was born in Newberry County on March 19, 1939, and passed away on April 11, 2021, at his home with his family at his side. He was the son of the late J.B. Berley and Carolyn Shealy Berley.Jerry graduated from Newberry High School and attended Clemson University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 4 years. Jerry began his career with Allied Chemical and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.He and his family were longtime members of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie Hardie Berley; daughter, Michele Knoshaug (David) of Greeley, CO; son, Mark Berley (Karin) of Prosperity, SC; 14 grandchildren as well as a number of great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mavis Stuart.
