The graveside service for Larry Michael “Mike” Dimmery, 76, of Blythewood, will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. The Bishop Doyle Roberts will be officiating. Mike was born on December 21, 1946, in Columbia, SC and departed this earthly life on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was the son of Ira VanDon Dimmery and Wilma Snipes Dimmery. Mike proudly served his country in the US Army and was a graduate of Eau Claire High School, class of 1965. He was a well-known Columbia area musician, bass guitarist, following the footsteps of his musical family. Mike was a member of Word of Faith Christian Center. Mike loved his family and the Lord. Survivors include daughters, September Witherspoon, Mia Patton, Amy Patton and Kimberly Bowers, Son, Phillip (Stephania) Patton. Sisters, Sharon (Tommy) Stone, Wanda Branham, Donna (Jack) Keese and Carla Dimmery. Brothers, Steve, and Dana Dimmery. Grandchildren, Quintin Dixon, Darius Caughman, Breyona Outten, Stephon Patton, Quierra Outten, Trotame Green, Jesse Witherspoon, John Witherspoon, and Isabella Witherspoon. Great-grandchildren, Londyn Hunter, Laylah-Skye Keller, Louella Santiago-Green, and Jamie Syrkett. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Jan) and his son Sean Dimmery. Memorials can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
