Linda Grist Hayes

Linda Grist Hayes, born December 1, 1954, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Born and raised in Columbia, Linda was known for her intelligence, kind heart, and deep love for her family. She was the beloved daughter of Dorthy Grist and the late Jay Grist. Linda devoted many years of her career to the insurance claims industry, where her dedication and sharp mind earned the respect of those who worked alongside her.

Linda found joy in life’s special moments, especially trips to the beach and collecting seashells. She also had a passion for photography and loved capturing memories through pictures and carefully created photo albums, especially those centered around her children and family milestones. Through those albums, she preserved treasured moments that her loved ones will cherish forever.

Above all else, Linda dearly loved her two sons; Travis Adcock and Lance Hayes, who were the center of her world.

A viewing will be held at Bush River Funeral Home on Friday, May 22, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Bush River Memorial Gardens.

She leaves behind family and friends that will forever cherish her memory and carry her love in their hearts.
