Funeral services for Lynette E. Burke will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 400 Harbison Blvd, Columbia, SC, 29212. Pastor Michael Price will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 29212. Lynette was born on February 17, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to the late Glynn M. and Laura P. Edwards. She passed away on February 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Lynette worked as a teacher for Lexington School District 1, where during her tenure, she was awarded the Special Needs Teacher of the Year for the Midlands. She was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church and a long-time volunteer at Sharing God’s Love. Lynette’s memory will be treasured by her loving husband: Richard J. Burke; her daughter and son-in-law; Juliet Hewitt (Tim); and her grandson: Adam Hewitt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Sharing God’s Love, P.O.
