Mary B. Moran

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mary B. Moran, 88, of Columbia will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, SC.The Moran Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. in the narthex of the church.Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC. Father Blas Caceres will officiate. Afterwards, a luncheon in her honor will be held at Our Lady of the Hills Family Life Center. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 30, 1934, and peacefully departed this earthly life on June 5, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Frederick D. Corcoran and Helen V. Cramer. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she met and married the love of her life, Jack Moran. An active and founding member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Mary graduated from Bishop McDonnell High School in 1952 and attended St. John’s University. She will be remembered most as a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Moran is survived by her four sons, John J. “Jack” Moran (Jennifer), Stephen G. Moran, Michael F. Moran, and Kevin C. Moran (Patricia); nine grandchildren, John, Katie, Meghan, Johnny, Abby, Caroline, Connor, William, and Craig; close cousin, Sister Stephen Mary, CSJ; and lifetime friend, Emily O’Leary.She was predeceased by her late husband, John F. Moran; and daughter, Mary Patricia Epps; Aunt Catherine and Uncle Salvatore Puglisi and close cousin Monsignor Guy Puglisi. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family.
