Michael W. Mathias, Sr.

Michael Wayne Mathias, Sr., 79, of Lexington, passed away on January 30, 2024. He worked for the State newspaper and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 57 years: Gloria W. Mathias, and his son: Michael Wayne Mathias, Jr. Those left to mourn his loss include his son: Derrick (Michele), and his grandchildren: Addison and Brayden. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, South Carolina, 29201. Rev. Mark Bredholt will be officiating.
