Myrtis B. Russell

A Service of Remembrance for Myrtis B. Russell, 91, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at the Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Antoinette Gaboton-Moss will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Myrtis passed away on Friday, February 18th, 2022. Myrtis was born in Kershaw, South Carolina, on February 15th, 1931, to the late Charlie and Gussie Truesdale Broughton. Myrtis was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, and gardening. Myrtis treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished their time spent making oatmeal cookies together. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Myrtis was predeceased by her loving husband Mendel A. Russell. Those left to mourn her loss include her daughters; Patsy Conner (John) and Becky Kirchner (Keith), her son; Art Russell, her grandchildren; Holly, Brittany, Mickey, Lindy, and Casey, and her great-grandchildren; Lance, Christian, and Cayden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 3200 Lyles St, Columbia, SC, 29201.
