Peggy L. Whitlock

The funeral service for Peggy L. Whitlock, 85, formerly of Columbia, will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 at 2:00 p.m. The Whitlock Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Don Brock of Gateway Baptist Church will officiate. Peggy was born on July 4, 1936, in Johnstown, PA, and departed this earthly life on May 29, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Adolf and Margaret Garschnik.Mrs. Whitlock was a longtime member of Gateway Baptist Church. Survivors include sisters, Lois Wicks of Davidsville, PA, and Jane Keller (Earl) of Irmo, SC; children, Jimmy Eckstein of Johnstown, PA, Sue Frank Eckstein of Ethel, WA, and Mark Eckstein of Charleston, SC; step-children, Rob Whitlock (Sherri) of Beaufort, SC, Penny Hurley (Joe) of Guthrie, OK, and Ben Whitlock (Sheryl) of Beaufort, SC; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert “Bob” K. Whitlock, daughter, Laura Eckstein, and brother-in-law, Dan Wicks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gateway Baptist Church Building Fund, 1651 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo, SC 29063.
