Ruby L. Poole

The private funeral service for Ruby L. Poole, 81, will be held on Thursday. December 3, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel, 281 Chapel Road, West Columbia, SC 29172 conducted by Reverend Tom Atten.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ruby was born in Lexington County, SC on January 5, 1939, and passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020.She was the daughter of the late Harvey Berry and Lucia Shumpert Berry.Mrs. Poole began her banking career at C.& S. National Bank, then to Bankers Trust, later NationsBank, and retired after 40 years of service with Bank of America.Ruby was a longtime member of Dunn’s Chapel Church. Survivors include sons, Troy Poole (Jody) and Kevin Poole all of Lexington; sister, Sarah Lite (Bunk) and brother, Ira Berry (Myrtle) all of Pelion; grandchildren, Cindy Poole and Erica Emmerling (Carl); great-grandchildren, Lyla Emmerling and Baylor Emmerling. Those who preceded her in death besides her parents were Son, Chris Poole, and, sister, Eloise Lucas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dunn’s Chapel Church, 281 Chapel Road, West Columbia, SC 29172, or All Seasons Hospice, 7142 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063.
