Sarah E. Cole

Funeral services for Sarah E. Cole, 82, will be held 12 Noon Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Bush River Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Sarah passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Frank Eleazer and Ellie Bouknight Eleazer. She graduated from Irmo High School where she excelled in basketball, achieving numerous awards in her accomplishments. Ms. Sarah worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 30 years of committed service. During her spare time, she enjoyed cutting her yard and caring for it and maintaining her garden with her tomato plants. She faithfully attended St. Andrews Road Church of Christ. She was very involved in her church activities, volunteering her time in many events as well as adorning many friends through Christ. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Ms. Sarah is survived by her children, Michael Dillard (Rebecca) and Angela Byers (Rick); step-children, Derrie Mitchell (Randy) and Sandy Brockelhurst (David); grandchildren, Chasen Howell (Adam), Lilly Rodriguez, and David Byers; great-grandchildren, Taty, Hank and Hallie; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Truax (Doug); brothers, Homer Eleazer (Minnie) Bobby Eleazer, and George Eleazer (Candy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Don Dillard and Doug Cole; children, James Cole, Randy Cole and Melissa Cole; and sister, Dell Weed.
