COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Zela Kay Ledford Evans, 75, of Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.Dr. Ed Carney, Dr. Tim Phillips and Reverend Wayne Cole will officiate. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.The family will greet friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at the church. Memorials may be made in Zela’s honor to Riverland Hills Baptist Church Mission’s Fund, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063. Mrs. Evans beloved wife of J. Ted Evans passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016.Born in Clyde, NC, she was the daughter of the late Emory Hugh Ledford and Dorothy Nelle Justice Ledford.Zela was born and raised in Haywood County before moving to South Carolina.She was an active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and also served as an E-Counselor with Billy Graham Association. Surviving including her husband of 58 years, J. Ted Evans of Columbia; daughters, Mickie Buckner (James) of Canton, NC and Pamela Henley (Russell) of Clyde, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Buckner (Lindsey) and Shanna Buckner (fiancé, Dylan); brother, Michael Ledford (Sue) of Clyde, NC.
